Letter to the Editor of New York Times from Chris Andreae of KBOO Community Radio Portland Oregon, Air Cascadia Regarding What She Calls David Carr's New York Times Hissy Fit.

" To the Editor of Business Day Media And Advertising and the Times' readership:

It is unlikely that readers will be aware of the writer, David Carr's long-standing animosity towards Crystal Cox . He has attacked her in print on a number of occasions that I know of.

 The nut of this whole saga is simple: people who wield a great deal of power, influence and money in the arenas of finance, law and journalism are going after an intrepid investigative reporter and blogger who writes at white-hot speed.

 The question Carr really should be asking is this: Why do the Mighty feel so threatened by what Cox has uncovered?

Crystal Cox did not create the information on the objection to Tonkon Torp’s fees that was part of the Summit Bankruptcy; the information came to her through her sources at Summit. She simply “followed the money” and I provided links to the documents, videos, information, depositions, court filings, insider emails, court audios and more that were already online.

In other words, What Crystal Cox does as a first-rate investigative journalist is track down the players and then provide readers with the tools to do the same. Clearly she enjoys what she does. And she wants to share that ‘Eureka!’ moment with others who share her curiosity. Her delight is evident in the “unconventional” writing style.

Crystal Cox writes exactly the way she speaks: uncensored, unhindered and undeterred by an Inner Editor. Perhaps her ‘voice’ seems rough because she is honest. You just don’t get that in journalism these days. The faster an object spins, the smoother the surface."
